37701 hauls a dead 47840 and its train nearly 3 hrs late, the 1M56 Penzance - Man Picc, July 1998, storming thorugh Newton Abbot en route to ExeterPrevious | NextThis day saw 840 rescue 3 trains in an 8 hr period, this is the second, 1A15 Padd - Penzance Motorail. FGW 47815 literally expired at Newton Abbot with a camshaft fault, 840 was the stand- by loco at Newton Abbot this day and it promptly performed sterling work. July 2000
