I don't like admitting it but North Star failed on a few occasions, but it also did a few rescues. This collection highlights a few moments.

7th July 2001 and 47840 drags the 09:10 HSt from Plymouth to Newton Abbot due to a defective power car. The loco perfermed faultlessly all day rescuing failed trains, a real money earner for Virgin, and a godsend for FGW.
